Each step in the book publishing process costs money, but with self-publishing, your advantage is keeping costs down by covering some of the steps. Thus authors tend to avoid traditional publishers to maximise returns.
Below are some of the steps involved in publishing your book:
- Content preparation, including manuscripts, pictures and more
- Contractual agreements with publisher to begin evaluation to determine readiness for publishing (evaluation can come before the contract but still involves some fees)
- Editorial – proofreading and more than that ensuring the book flows. The publisher may suggest fixing certain sections to make it more appealing.
- Layout and design – this includes the overall dimensions, cover design, fonts to be used etc

Our Print on Demand Service
In a perfect scenario, you’d order as low as one book. But, it is not perfect yet. What we order is manageable batch sizes depending on the book size and number of pages. Depending on the specification, the batch size can be as low as 30 books per order.

We also offer online reordering once you set your order size. You can log in to your account and re-order a batch once you run low or anticipate new orders. Once you calculate your costs, on checkout, your account is created for you automatically.
Do we offer system integration? No. This is because of specific order sizes we need to deal with. It is easier for us to manage batched orders from within our system. Maybe, as we grow, we will offer this service soon.
Fulfilment services? No. We find that the already existing ecommerce platforms offer far superior fulfilment services that are well optimised. We encourage you to use already existing platforms to dispatch your books efficiently. All you’ll need with us is reorder once the batch is close to depletion.
