This is a common term printers refer to. When a printer asks you the grammage of paper you’re going to use, they want to know how heavy the sheet of paper is per square meter. This brings about the term “Grams Per Square Metre”. You’ll find it written as g/m2 or GSM in your quote (sometimes grammage). This weight of paper is determined using ISO 536. The higher the GSM, the heavier the paper, the thicker the paper and the more expensive the paper will be. Below are some of the paper weights you’ll generally find in Kenya (readily available). It is important as a brand to choose paper that is consistently available in the market so as to produce the same quality for your customers each time.
